NAMES: Alkesh Woods
NICKNAMES: Kesh, Al, Keshybaby, Alky, Alfish, Alcatel, Alchopop, Woodsy, Al'Huk (alright-I made that last one up :p)
SELF-SUMMARY: To describe myself in full would take many, many pages; I really don't fit in with any one grouping:
I'm a supporter of the Conservatives BUT a student activist on development & environmental issues
I'm an ardent Christian BUT think gay marriage(even in church), abortion, pornography etc... should be legal
I love long conversations, making speeches and acting BUT I can be incredibly reserved & like to spend days on my own writing & reading
FUTURE PLANS: Finish typing this up, go downstairs, have a coffee, come back upstairs…oh wait!
Seriously, I’d like to finish Uni (2 ½ years and counting…) and meanwhile travel the world/ do as many different things as possible. My final goal is to do something that will actually affect the world (for the better of course – I’m not Evil!) perhaps writing or going into politics or even both.
FAVOURITE MUSIC: Don't really have any favourites, anything from 80s Goth to 80s Rock to 80s Pop; Dire Straits, The Cure, Adam & the Ants, Michael Jackson, The Police, The Clash, Blondie.
I do like non-80s things as well though; Eminem, Guns and Roses, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Scissor Sisters, The Darkness…
FAVOURITE TV PROGRAMMES: Pretty much any British comedy you can think of; Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, The Two Ronnies (+ Barker's work), Rowan Atkinson's stuff, French & Saunders and everything they've done, Only Fools and Horses, Red Dwarf, Catherine Tate and, of course, Little Britain. The Simpsons & Futurama can’t be forgotten of course.
SIX THINGS YOU COULDN'T DO WITHOUT:
Pen & paper (I'm always scribbling something)
Clothes (I'm not a nudist!)
Computer (I couldn't type this up for a start)
TV (It's taken over my life as much as everyone elses')
Books (the TVs of old)
Other people (life is pretty meaningless otherwise)
YOU SPEND ALOT OF TIME THINKING ABOUT: Is it just me or does this seem like a leading question with the answer as "sex"? Maybe it's just a guy thing...
In reality, I think about general problems with the world & how they could be solved. Personally I think that the change needs to happen in peoples’ minds – read the rest of my LJ for further details!
THE MOST STUPID THING YOU’VE EVER DONE: Well, I have 10 pages outlining all of the stupid things I’ve done! Handcuffing myself without a key is the most stupid & recent, though thinking that escalators had bristles on the side to clean shoes did lead to some very adverse consequences… (you know where London Underground has posters with statistics on escalator causalities - I was won of them!)
YOU SHOULD ADD ME IF:
You can answer me these questions three:
1) What is your name?
2) What is your quest?
3) What is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?
[P.S. Answering three questions not required :)]
Interests (43):
adam and the ants, aerosmith, blackadder, blondie, books, catherine tate, coldplay, conservatives, debating, dire straits, eminem, films, guns and roses, jimmy hendrix, karate, led zeppelin, little britain, michael jackson, monty python, music, only fools and horses, open all hours, pastimes, piano, police, porridge, queen, red dwarf, red hot chilli peppers, scissor sisters, singing, swimming, the clash, the culture club, the cure, the darkness, the jam, the simpsons, the smiths, the stranglers, the two ronnies, tv programmes, ukgold!
Schools:
Bancroft's School - Redbridge, England - Greater London, United Kingdom (1994 - 2005)London School of Economics and Political Science - City of Westminster, England - Greater London, United Kingdom (2005 - present)
